Human Resources
The University offers a wide variety of services to its staff, most with computer-based support in one form or another. Major areas where comprehensive systems have been developed to provide support are:
PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System (HRMS)
The system includes an extensive set of functions that supports:
- Recruitment
- Workforce Management
- Compensation
- Benefits
- Payroll
- Employee Self Service
- Manager Self Service
On payroll related processes, the system interfaces with the Financial module of the PeopleSoft Finance Management System and the e-payment system developed by ISO.
Leave System
The on-line leave system allows staff to apply and enquire about their leave, while managers can approve and enquire leave of his / her sub-ordinates.
Transformation
HR transformation is aimed at uplifting HR responsibilities above administrative tasks and onto workforce performance enhancement. Efficiency and effectiveness could be raised with the streamlining and automation of many manual processes.
Consolidation of staff and faculty data / documents at a central point can ensure consistency. Data can then be shared to authorized personnel for their daily operation and analytic needs.
Staff experience can be improved with the enablement of self-services, convenience access through a single dashboard or mobile apps.
